ronMessage from Ron Lel, Deputy Director

On behalf of the Director, Mrs Chansanga, Deputy Director Lance, and my self I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all students, old and new, parents, teachers and staff of Kiettisack International School to the new school year 2014-2015.

Our student population and teaching staff is growing every year, evidence that we are providing a solid education for our students. In the last school year we had a record number of our students sitting for Cambridge IGCSE and AS level exams. We hope that this number increases this year as these awards provide a pathway to further education worldwide. We have had a number of students who have been awarded scholarships and places to various tertiary institutes around the world.

Education in the Lao PDR is becoming increasingly important and it is with pleasure and pride that we at KIS believe that we are playing an ever greater role in this. To this end we are pleased to announce that we will be introducing some new subject choices at year 11 and 12, notably Chemistry at year 11 and AS/A level General Studies at years 11 and 12. This will give students a greater range of option in tertiary education.

Many of our students have taken part in international symposia and conferences, adding to their life experiences. Academia is not the only area at which the school has done well. Our sporting teams have enjoyed a high level of success will hopefully continue to do so.

We are all looking forward to a new, happy and above all successful school year in 2014-2015.

Ron Lel, Deputy Director KIS

Head of Senior School.
